Hello hello!
I'm Rachel.
I write for editors, agencies,
businesses and other freelancers.
Plus a wee bit more.

Who am I?

I’m a journalist, copywriter and content producer.

My business and I are based in Newtown – a loveable, bohemian pocket of Sydney’s inner west. I’ve lived in Sydney most of my life and have freelanced for well over 20 years.

Oodles of experience writing for magazines, corporates, agencies and small businesses means I know a thing or two about telling a good story, and producing copy and content that hits the spot. And if that’s in the area of personal finance, business or lifestyle, I’m your person.

What do I do?

I can help you with all of these lovely things.

My services include story ideation and brainstorming, copywriting, content marketing, blog posts, print features, case studies, content strategy, lead magnets, ebooks, eDM copy and WordPress assistance. Feeling a bit bamboozled and not exactly sure what you need? I can break it down and guide you through that, too.

Plus, you can be reassured that I know my stuff: beyond the work in my portfolio, I co-host The Content Byte podcast with fellow freelancer Lynne Testoni, and I run Rachel’s List, so I’m pretty much part of the furniture in the content world. (PS. I can talk the leg off a chair about freelancing and writing – you can listen to or read interviews I’ve done with SBS, ArtsHub, Journos Get Online, Your Career Podcast, The Freelancer’s Year, Hot Copy Podcast, Rounded and Hustle and Heart). I also recently wrote about how to find a copywriter for the VA Lead Network (and the differences between a copywriter and a content writer).

Why would you hire me?

I’m good at what I do, and I’m easy to work with.

When hiring a freelancer, you want to know that the person you’ll be working with is reliable, professional and friendly. Think of me as someone who can make your work life easier, and help you fulfil your goals. That’s what I want, and I go the extra mile to make that happen.

I also understand how busy you are. You know your copy and content is SUPER important, but handing it over to a professional like me can mean you get back precious hours in your day. Hours to run your business. Have lunch with your mum. Or just take more naps. Boo-yeah!
